    Colleen Young is a seasoned expert in the field of addiction treatment, bringing a wealth of experience and a compassionate, holistic approach to her role as Clinical Director at Hatch Behavioral Health. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Colleen has dedicated her career to empowering individuals, couples, and families on their journey to recovery.

    Colleen's extensive background as a Clinical Director spans across various settings, including all-female and gender-specific programs at all levels of care. Her tenure in these roles is a testament to her leadership and dedication to elevating the quality of care in addiction treatment.

    In addition to her leadership at Hatch Behavioral Health, Colleen maintains a thriving private practice in Laguna Hills, California, where she has provided professional counseling for over 17 years. Her commitment to helping individuals heal and transform their lives has made her a trusted resource in the community.

    Colleen's academic journey began at California Baptist University in Riverside, California, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2001 and her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 2004. These educational achievements laid the foundation for her impactful career in the behavioral health field.

    Passionate about serving in addiction treatment, Colleen considers it an honor to be part of a treatment team that places the client's care as the top priority. Her approach goes beyond traditional counseling, as she believes in a holistic method that addresses the body, mind, and spirit connection. Colleen's style is characterized by warmth, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude, creating a safe and nurturing environment for those she serves to gain the insight necessary for change and to achieve their best possible lives.

    Outside of her professional pursuits, Colleen finds joy in the outdoors, live music, and all things related to dogs. Her holistic and empathetic approach, combined with her wealth of experience, makes Colleen Young an invaluable asset to the Hatch Behavioral Health family.

  • Jana Hockett

    CADC-I / Case Manager

    Jana Hockett is a driven Case Manager with a strong commitment to helping others. She holds a CADC-I (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) certification and is currently working towards her LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) to further her expertise in social work.

    Beyond her career, Jana's life is enriched by her love for animals. Lyndon Reginald, a giraffe she adopted and supports at the San Diego Zoo. She also shares her home with an assortment of furry and scaly companions including a turtle named Rocko, and a clan of cats: Sera, Odin, Chuca, Tabby, and Louie. Her two loyal canine companions are Missie and Lola.

    When she's not caring for her animals or focused on her professional development, Jana enjoys the music of Slipknot and spends quality time with her kids. She also finds relaxation in brisk walks around her neighborhood, appreciating the simple pleasures in life.

    HR Specialist

    Mary Pera brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as an HR Specialist at Hatch Behavioral Health. With a Bachelor of Science in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Mary embarked on a journey that eventually led her to the dynamic field of behavioral healthcare.

    Since her move to California in 2013, Mary has donned a multitude of hats in the behavioral healthcare sector, gaining invaluable insights along the way. Her academic background, combined with her personal journey of recovery, positions her as a valuable resource for anyone seeking a path to a better life.

    Mary's empathetic nature shines through in her willingness to lend a compassionate ear to those facing challenges or in need of guidance. Her strong team mentality, meticulous attention to detail, and nurturing disposition make her a perfect fit for the culture at Hatch Behavioral Health.

    Beyond her contributions to the team, Mary is deeply committed to her work at a sober living facility she co-founded with her husband in 2017. This endeavor reflects her dedication to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery.

    When she's not immersed in her HR responsibilities, Mary finds solace in long walks in the woods, actively engages in volunteering, practices yoga, and, most importantly, enjoys the company of her beloved great dane, Pablo. Mary Pera's passion for helping others and her well-rounded approach to life make her an invaluable asset to the Hatch Behavioral Health team.

    CEO

    Tony Pera, our Executive Director and co-founder of Hatch Behavioral Health, is a distinguished expert in the field of mental health care. With a strong educational foundation, including a BA from Ohio State and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine, Tony's career is defined by his commitment to transforming lives.

    Before co-founding Hatch Behavioral Health, Tony served as a Vocational Director at an outpatient program, where he pioneered innovative approaches to help clients regain their independence. He later held an admissions position at an adolescent mental health facility, gaining deep insights into early intervention.

    Tony's leadership at Hatch Behavioral Health is defined by a strategic vision that seamlessly incorporates evidence-based therapies. His dedication to ethical practices and unwavering commitment to quality care make him a driving force in reshaping behavioral health care.

    Tony is also a professional boxer, an adventurer with a passion for diverse cultures, an avid Ohio sports enthusiast, and a taco fanatic. These diverse interests reflect his multifaceted approach to life, enriching his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Tony’s expertise and dynamic leadership continue to guide Hatch Behavioral Health as a beacon of hope, empowering individuals to thrive and fostering a brighter future for all.

  • Brian Burnett

    RADT / Group Facilitator

    Brian's journey into nutrition and health was sparked by a deep-seated desire to comprehend how to nurture the interconnected elements of mind, body, and spirit during the recovery process. Having spent two decades as a senior executive in the mortgage foreclosures and litigation sphere, Brian made a significant life shift in 2013 when he chose to become the primary caregiver for both his parents in Seal Beach, California. The loss of his mother to stage IV lung cancer in 2015 and his father to COPD and other health complications in 2017 catalyzed Brian's transition from corporate leadership and coaching to pursuing certifications in international health coaching and wellness counseling, which he attained in 2017. In 2018, he ventured into the transformational and ontological coaching domain.

    Brian Burnett is a seasoned professional with multiple certifications in coaching. He holds accreditation from the International Association of Health Coach and Wellness Counselor (IAHC) and is recognized as an International Coaching Federation (ICF) coach, possessing PCC credentials. Additionally, Brian is registered as an alcohol and drug technician (RADT), currently working towards completing his Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC).

    Since 2018, Brian has been actively involved in leading groups within treatment centers, guiding individuals through the journey of recovery. His group sessions delve into various aspects including behavior, health, nutrition, spirituality, and the development of life skills conducive to a healthy, sober lifestyle. Brian's approach emphasizes empowering clients to tap into their inner wisdom, align with their values, and translate their aspirations into tangible actions, thereby fostering sustainable and holistic well-being.
